It’s commendable that a number of Maldivian Islamic scholars have got together in exposing the secular and anti-Islamic statements and policies of Gayyoom. Adhaalath Party is organizing and spearheading these actions to expose the apparent hypocrisy of Gayyoom with regards to wearing the buruga (veil) and the implementation of the death penalty and so on. Despite these apparently “Islamic” statements of Adhaalath Party, there are some very important questions that we should ask “Adhaalath” and the “Jumhooree” Alliance!
If Gasim Ibrahim (the candidate that Adhaalath Party is backing) wins the election:-
1. Will they make it compulsory for all Maldivian women to wear the buruqa (veil)?
2. Will they implement the death penalty?
3. Will they cut the hands of thieves as per the Sharia?
4. Will they stone the fornicators as per the Sharia?
5. Will they ban the importing and sale of alcoholic drinks?
6. Will they ban bank interest (ribaa)?
These are just some of the many issues that Adaalath Party is raising against Gayyoom! Adhaalath say that Gayyoom’s wife doesn’t wear the veil and that Gayyoom speaks against the wearing of the veil. But, the big question is if Adhaalath comes to power will they make it compulsory for all Maldivian women to wear the buruqa (veil)? If they refuse to say so, then we can assume that Adaalath is also using Islam as a tool to attack their opponents politically.
Adhaalath say that Gayyoom speaks against the implementation of the death penalty (Gisaas). But, the big question is if Adhaalath comes to power will they implement the death penalty? If they refuse to say so, then we can assume that Adaalath is also using Islam as a tool to attack their opponents politically.
Adhaalath say that Gayyoom spoke against the sale of alcohol before he became president and that his words and actions changed when he became president! If so, will Adhaalath Party stand by their claim and ban the import and sale of alcohol to this country if their candidate comes to power! Will they implement Sharia and ban bank interest (ribaa) and ban the importing and sale of alcohol and stone the fornicators and cut the hands of thieves. If they refuse to say so, then we can assume that Adaalath is also using Islam as a tool to attack their opponents politically.
Adhaalath is backing the biggest ribaa taker in the country! Adhaalath is backing the biggest seller of alcohol in the country! I don’t know if they are backing any thieves whose hands should be cut, or if they are backing any fornicators who should be flogged and stoned; but I'm willing to make a bet that none of the above issues with regards to the wearing of the buruqa or the selling of alcohol will change even if Gasim and Adhaalath comes to power. Politicians are mostly just hypocrites and the best thing that they can do is to stop using Islam as a tool. Just keep their mouths shut. The more they open it the more they get exposed. This is true for Adhaalath just as it is true for Gayyoom! If they disagree with the views here, I challenge Adhaalath Party to issue a statement confirming that they will implement the six points stated above.
Adaalat is only useful as an an attack dog.
ReplyDeleteOfcourse, they cannot practice what they preach. They are hypocrites.
If Adalat is the party of God, why would not make an Alliance with Qasim, unless they believe Qasim and money is God.
Is money more reliable than faith to win in politics?
Lets look at Gasim.Gasim might not be as knowledgable of Islam as Maumoon or Anni. But he never denied facts such as wearing Burugaa, etc.
ReplyDeleteThats better for us compared to Anni and Maumoon. Both hypocrites.
So Anni can accept FG waheed and we should assume its a great move!
LOL
Denying the facts in Quran, believeing in them, abiding them. These are three stages.Maumoon falls to first.
ReplyDeleteAnni I suppose does not fall to either cause he has no idea what Islam itself is.
Its an arranged marriage, no partner likes the other, but wife (Adaalath Party) needs money and shelter and husband (JP) is filthy rich.
ReplyDeletewe are attacking us, eachother, leaving Maumoon to laugh his guts out?
ReplyDelete38 Reasons by internet bloggers on why DR Hassan Saeed is not a Suitable Presidential Candidate for Maldives in the Presidential Election 2008.
ReplyDeleteAdhaalath is just another bunch of money greedy sheiks. They r less worthy than gayyom to this country. Anni doesn't speak abt religious matters cox its nt his profession n as hes the candidate of a party he has religious scholars within his party to do the required religious justification. Unlike maummoom hes not the; religious scholar, environmentalist, father of environment, father of democracy( according to dr shaheed) n so on....
ReplyDeleteIts very true that Adhaalath can not implement this, nor can ask Gasim to do so. But that's not the end of story. There is no single person who can do it in that manner among all these candidates.
ReplyDeleteI did hear Adhaalath saying no one should call another Muslim a non-Muslim..yet did i see such a case in Supreme Court? I think so. Tell the truth everyone is using the religion as an excuse to attack the opponents in politics. The next moment they are so innocent like angles to advice the other NEVER to use religion for political purposes. I'd name this system Mudhin Kaalhu ge system
Adhaalath party sucks big time!
ReplyDeleteBeware of Adhaalath party - the extremists. The hypochrites.
Adaalath can not correct what the Golha has been destroying since 1978,but i hope Adaalath party will be doing good work in order to build a better Islamic mujuthama when they get power. give power to Adhaalathu party by voting Gaasim in presidential election .
ReplyDeleteMr. Bushry I am ashamed of you for being and Adduan. Do you realize the difference between not implementing and the outright denial of a commandment from Allah. Do you realize the implications of it if Qayyoom turns out to be the winner in this.
ReplyDeleteThe above comment is a classic hypocritical statement and probably from Adalat. It says, and I quote
ReplyDelete'Do you realize the difference between not implementing and the outright denial of a commandment from Allah'
So not implementing is ok.
hhahahaha.. that is funny.
With all due respect to the last anonymous. I'm not writing on behalf of Adhaalath. I should say you got me wrong. I don't mean to say not implementing is o.k. but I was referring to the gravity of the matter. I also suggest not to make comments just for the sake of it but try to find the truth first. Also I don't think we can be making fun of our religion.
ReplyDeletewell i think that hounarable buruma gasim bought the adhaalat party with an agreement of which if he suceeds the election he make the schools teach the young minds islamic religion and he gave themmoney
ReplyDeleteIts funny the way Adhaalaath is being attacked. What is wrong with Maldivians? They are so stupid shud say.
ReplyDeleteI respect your views expressed in your articles and value the role you your self has played in "all this" since from "Monday Times" times. I am sure all this has made a difference.A huge difference.
ReplyDeleteRegarding questions such as Will Adhaalath ask all Maldivian women to wear veil, I would like to tell, that such things are not forced. But public should be made aware how it is in our religon rather than trying to mould it into the way one favours or forcing it.
When the public are made aware of such things, they should take the decision by themselves.I suppose there is no point in forcing such things as Talibans did in Afghanisthan.
I guess the role Adhaalath is trying to play here to make public aware of facts of Islam rather than forcing it.
Maldivians have been relatively far from such knowledge hence I guess some people are having a hard time getting adjusted to it.
Your views are also considerable. There are two sides to everything. This is my view.
Thanks
Some prominent members in Adaalath Party do go overboard with their outrageous comments, sometimes when they speak to a large audience. But it is also true that most of what they say with respect to Maumoon is easier to digest. Gasim, I think with their backing has made his party stronger. The deal between them could be of benefit to Maldives in the long run if Gasim's party wins the election. A win-win situation is what could be described of their alliance.
ReplyDeletehmmm. dear editor. adhalath is not saying if buruma comes they will apply those punishments. they are only trying to disqualify maumoon from this election because he is aginst the belief of sunnah jama'ah. not because maumoon didnt force women to wear veil. buruga is some thing all the islamic scholars agree upon. so he cant deny and say that it is not an important issue. also saying that he has rights to change the punishments from allah and forgive people. and released a new vese to the ummah. adhalath is only trying to save this nation from unislamic thoughts. so dont blame adhalath. in my opinion this issue is not politics. but the time of this issue made look it like politics.
ReplyDeleteAt least Golhaabo was right when he said Adhaalath Party has sold the religion of Islam for money.
ReplyDeleteAdhaalath Party is getting funnier and funnier.
If you are Muslims and if you fear Allah you have to believe what He says."Shaitan has overtaken them. So He has made them forget the remembrance of Allah. They are the party of Shaitan (Satan). Verily, it is the party of Shaitan (Satan)that will be the losers!" (Qur'an 58:20) It is an undeniable fact that Maumoon is in manifest error. This has nothing to do with either Adaalath or Jumhooree Party. It is incumbent on every single Muslim man and woman to defend Islam. And it is the DUTY of Islamic Scholars to defend Islam when secularist elements like Maumoon, Afrashim and Qubad attack it. Whether you like it or not they will do it. And whether Muhammad Bushry from Addu likes it or not it is his own business but he should remember that he must be responsible for making fun of religion by allowing ignorant people like you make such silly comments against Islam. May Allah guide you all.
ReplyDeleteMr. Bushry I thought at least you are one who has sufficient religious knowledge but now I think otherwise. You may be a devout and practicing Muslim but I gather from some of the things you have mentioned that must learn quite a lot. It is sad that people of you caliber has this deficiency. Frankly speaking I'm nether supporting any religious scholars or promoting any party but I cannot bear it when people attack our faith.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame him. When educated people without religious information write article with good intention this is the result. I'm sure his intentions are good, because I know him from his many good articles, if not personally.
ReplyDeleteI am sure this was written with good intention.
ReplyDeleteBut there are problems in the way Adhaalath is handling all.But then again there intention too is good I am sure.
So I think we should concentrate on Maumoon and only Maumoon. In the end it does not matter if its Anni or Umar.(Both will fail for sure)
But that does not matter.WE have to see ways in which we can get rid of Maumoon.
When people like Anni comes and fail, its time for others.Anni cant vaki hippaa for 30 years for sure.Nor can anyone else.Insha Allah the best will win this time and this country will see good changes this time.Ameen
Bushri, keep up the good work.Hope to see your next article soon.
Adaalat is just a symptom of a larger problem. You can't mix religion and politics. Its very wrong.
ReplyDeleteReligion is our faith, that we believe because it is true. There is no room for debate.
But in politics everything is a debate. So politics and religion should be separate. Ofcourse, that should not mean we have to be secular.
Unfortunately this whole politics things is a drama and Adalat is another Rani group.
No way.! Adhaalath is doing the very right thing at a required time.It does not matter whether politics is involved or not, they do have to take a stand and play this role. They or anone else for that matter.Rani group? How do you justify that?
ReplyDeleteAnd when you come up with such a stong attack you need not be anonymous I suppose.Praising some one as anonymous is simple. But when criticizing your assumption to be of value, you have to come with in your identity. Not as an anonymous.
Adhaalth is the biggest abuser of Islam, while claiming that Maumoon does so. While Ahdaaltah is just a politiacal party like rest, they have led the Maldivians (even the current president) believe that they are the defenders of Islam and they are not looking for power and Presidency. Except a few peolple in Maldives have been trapped by this trick, and people seem to see that Allah and Mohamed inscribed in everything that belongs to Adhaalath, while they are a bunch of radiacals like Taleban in Afghanistan-Pakistan. They have said so themselves directly, and keep proving through practice and preaching on a daily basis. Most important thing is they do not beleive in democracy but working through a democratic system only to earn power. As soon as they are in power democracy will become void.
ReplyDeleteWell someone cannot utter a bigger lie. You cannot justify things like that. You have to have to proof. You are trying to discredit scholars who are not saying anything different from the Islamic scholars from the time of Muhammad (Peace be upon him). For you people if someone tells the truth regarding religion and if that happens to be something you do not like then you start labeling them and giving them names. This is proof enough you are not interested in religion. If you are first you would find authentic information before writing whatever comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteI do not prove anything to anyone, specially if you are anonymous. I have proof of what I said and I know the truth I heard it with my own ears. If you are really looking for proof you do not seek it by using fictious names or anonymously. I am willing to give you facts if you come out using a genuine ID.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm saying is Adhaalath and Islamic scholars are saying things you can't disprove because they are saying things the whole Islamic Ummah agrees. Prominent scholars elsewhere are saying the same thing. Actually I need no proof from you. What proof can you show. The style of your writing proves to me beyond doubt there is no proof to what you claim.
ReplyDeleteWe are all Muslims so what is wrong with implementing Allaah's Law.
ReplyDeleteWhy not Amputate the hand if you steal etc.
Since you all claim you love Islam so much, so why not implement the Islamic Laws.
i support Bushry for his past works, but when u touch with religious issues in the country i do not feel easy. i suggest let adhaalath party do their work at their best and support them till u prove that Adhaalath party is not working in to improve our islamic faith. they established well in their site why they endorsed Mr.Gasim for presidential election.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why some of our people attack religious scholars when they do their duties. Are the scholars answerable to these people or are they answerable to Allah. My friends these people do not have enough knowledge regarding religion. And the knowledge they have is not authentic. That is why we have educated and intelligent people who are biased towards religion. They would not have done what they are doing if they knew it, because no one in his right mind would oppose Allah and His messenger
ReplyDeleteI think we should hate people for the sake of Allah and we should love people for the sake of Allah. So, just because we have cause for some personal grudge against some people we should not be spreading false information about them. If we do we may be following the footsteps of Satan.
ReplyDeletewell written article Bushree. but from most of the comments written above, it appears that people have misunderstood what u are trying to convey. bushree is not saying anything antireligious.he is saying why Adhalat is atacking maumoon using religious matters which they themselves will not practice and are not practicing. that makes them nothing but hypocrites.
ReplyDeleteIf Adhaalath+JP comes to power,Adhaalath can twist Islam and the people wont question because the general public are suffering from short memory.
ReplyDelete
