After converting Muleeaage as the Official Residence of the President and after converting Theemuge into the main campus of the University of Maldives; we need to make Hilaaleege (where Nasheed is residing now) the Official Residence of the Vice President.
im totally against coz i want our leaders to live among us, lead moderate lifestyle and cut down budget. VP can get a living expense, security and hav his own office within president's office. we dont need private houses for chief justice, speaker, VP and such to make expenses exceed to the level of theemuge. all these years they had lived at their own place. so why now? i think as long as each has offices to meet foreign dignitaries is enough. rick
ReplyDeleteDid u know current PM of Turkey is a pious muslim and lives in his own house even when he was offered residence by state? After being elected he called upon his cabinet to do so in order to understand how ordinary people live in the country and he is setting example for them. rick
ReplyDeleteDude i live in a 11by15f room. at least i have my own room, but most families in Male' live in cramped condition 10 or 15 people living in a single room.

Give anni a two Room Apartment or 15000 Mrf as room rent.
Give Waheed a single room apartment or 10000. Mrf as room rent.
I am a die hard member of MDP and I voted for MDP, i expect them to solve the housing problem first. Now with out solving the housing problem if the jump in to the palace and luxury condos then i have to tell that they are hypocrites.
Let them live like us until the housing problem is solved..

why is the idea of the residence came first in our minds? we can't give each a separate home while our economy is deep in the ground. while ppl are living in kotari aailaa. make pple live a thaahiru dhiriulhun first and then we will make you leaders live in comfort.
