Well, half of the battle is over by wining this election. On the other hand Maumoon, Yamin, Thasmeen, Kutti Nasheed, Azima, Aneesa, AKamaaluddeen, AHameed, etc. will join their financial muscles and deception and try to take advantage of any hiccups from MDP. As they have said repeatedly, they will try to win the next parliamentary election. Though this is unlikely we should never underestimate them. IF MDP-Iththihaadh fails to realize their promises to the people then it will open a door for DRP to gain access to the minds of the electorate.
The constitution could be amended to say that anyone who has served two presidential terms at anytime in our history could become president again. But this will still not close the door on corrupt elements of Gayyoom from coming to power – people such as Yamin! We cannot close that door through any law but we can close that door if MDP-Iththihaadh rules humbly and se per their promises.
Some of the most critical issues include housing, narcotic drugs, inflation control, reducing wasteful government expenditure, making better use of Theemuge, making better use of Aarah, strengthening Islamic values amongst us, promoting our culture, reducing crime, introducing a performance related corporate culture, promoting good governance in the civil service and the political circles, etc.
Good governance should be the key all successes in the future. That needs to be established urgently.
What happened to Kutti Nasheed, I heard he was very angry that Anni got elected.
ReplyDeleteI heard this... Kutti met Gayoom in the early hours of asked Gayoom to initiate a military intervention to take over the Govenment. When Gayoom didnt agree Kutti got angry, threw off the chair he was sitting and left the meeting/palace on a friends motor bike, leaving behind his car near the palace.
Kutti is a senseless moron who doesnt have political intellignece like Hasan Saeed and Shaeed do have. These two leaders are chief architects of the downfall of dictator Mamoon.
ReplyDeleteWhat intelligence Hassan Saeed has? You were all making fun of Shaheed when he was in the government
ReplyDeleteThis is a presidential system. There is no concept of ittihaad ruling.Even if that scenario exist, the ittihad also presents a problem called 'Qasim' who owns the land, air, and sea of this country

ReplyDeleteMaumoon, A bdullah Hameed, Yamin, Ilyas, Abbas, Umar zahir, Abdul Rasheed Hussain, Abdullah Kamaluddeen, Fathuhullah, etc. from the old guard...and from the young guard - Aishath Didi of Addu, Chubby, Haidar, Maai, Thasmeen, Kutti, etc. should never be brought to the new government. Let them fend for themselves. We do not want to bring them to serve us again. let them serve Gayyoom! Aisha said is a disgrace to Addu and ZKutti is a disgrace to mankind. let Kutti and Azima Shukoor and all the Shukoor-clan have a dirt orgy. To hell with them.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same. Maumoon is too cunning a politician to let go that easily. We all were expecting him to flee after he lost the elections. But the fact that he is staying indicates that something's up.He knows that the Ithihaad government would be fragile.Let's not give him and Yaameen a chance to take advantage of this.
ReplyDeleteWe need a Clean, Lean & Effective government.
ReplyDeleteGovernment should immediately introduce & start to nurture a Performance Culture.
Government machinery should be re-engineered for Maximum Performance.
Ministers should be fully aware of the importance & seriousness of the timely Execution of Strategies & Tasks. Alliance members & MDP should agree on this principle.
Civil Servants promotions should be purely based on Performance / Merit.
Principle Centered approach should the heart of all decision making.
If the new government introduces the above NEW stuff, great days are to come. We all will be happy !
Pay based on Performance.

DRP is not finished and it will never be finished. DRP will surely can come back if the current government fails in governance and establishing rule of law. There are reasons to think it can fail. First of all the face of Anii government is a to the core corrupted man Mr. Zaki. Other indication of its failure is Jmohooree party. Jomhooree party consists of muscle men who are there to protect their interests using the alliance as the platform. ADK nashid is there to prolong his Hospital wich he has won without having gone through any legal process. The another thing is that if Hassan joins the government and becomes a puppet of Anni, this government will fail and he will become a political casualty and the scenario will be DRP winning the next election.
ReplyDeleteWhat if DRP make a comeback? You have a problem with that? Or you think MDP should be the only political party of this country?
ReplyDeleteBushry, are u determined to support MDP at any cost.If MDP fails let them fail.Whats the problem with that. The ironic part is none of these 'possibilities' were discussed in the pre election period.Choosing a presidential candidate is not like going to sai hotaa and breaking the head over what to choose amongst a plethora of similar things
ReplyDeleteAtleast in the sai hotaa, you can bark at the expat labour and switch your opinion
